QuickStart reference for OKI ROM-monitor
Getting started with the JOB671000 evaluation board
Follow these instructions to use C-SPY with the JOB671000 evaluation board:
Example 1:
-
Connect the evaluation board to your host computer.
-
Start the IAR Embedded Workbench and open the job
example project found at ...\arm\examples\oki\JOB671000
-
This project assumes that the board is connected via USB. (To change this,
see example 2.)
-
You can now start the debug session. Choose Project>Debug (or click
the C-SPY button on the toolbar) to download the code to the target
and start debugging.
-
Detailed information about the job example file can be found in the readme.txt
file at ...\arm\examples\oki\JOB671000
Example 2:
-
Connect the evaluation board to your host computer.
-
Start the IAR Embedded Workbench and open the tutor
example project.
-
This project has been preconfigured to use the simulator driver, so to
run the application on JOB671000 you must change the driver.
-
Choose Project>Options and select the C-SPY category.
-
Change the Driver option to OKI ROM-monitor.
-
Go to the OKI ROM-monitor page of the C-SPY options and select the connection
type you want to use, USB or serial RS232.
-
USB can be used on Windows 98/ME/2000 etc. and is already selected by default.
-
If you have Windows NT4, which does not support USB, you must now change
to RS232 serial communication, otherwise you will get an error
message when the ROM-monitor driver for USB cannot be loaded.
-
Make sure that you have a linker command file that matches the JOB671000
hardware. To select a linker command file, choose Project>Options
and go to the Include page of the XLINK category. A sample linker command
file for JOB671000 can be found in the ...\arm\examples\oki\JOB671000 directory.
-
You can now start the debug session. Choose Project>Debug (or click
the C-SPY button on the toolbar) to download the code to the target
and start debugging.
