STEREOTYPES

A stereotype is a simple, yet efficient way to create state with uniform look. A Stereotype is a named template that captures the size, color, font sizes and entry,exit and interal actions of a state. Hierarchical information is not captured. A project can use as many stereotypes as necessary.

• Create a stereotype by first designing a state to have the visual appearance you want for the stereotype. Note that entry action, exit actions and internal actions are in this case part of the appearance.
• Right-click on the state and select New stereotype and give it a name.
• The stereotype name now appears in the stereotype drop-down menu on the toolbar and is effective until another stereotype or no stereotype is selected from the drop-down menu. New states will be created with the same visual appearance as the state used for the stereotype creation.
