IAR Embedded Workbench for S08 - patch v1.20.8

Highlights

New devices
Support (excluding flash loader) has been added for the following devices:
MC9S08SU8 and MC9S08SU16.

New HW debug probe support
Support has been added for the following HW debug probes and production programmers from P&E Microcomputer Systems:

- The Multilink Universal FX debug probe.
- The Cyclone Universal production programmer.
- The Cyclone Universal FX production programmer.

To use the new HW debug probes, you must first install the updated P&E Microcomputer Systems emulator drivers. Use the Install P&E Microcomputer Systems Emulator Drivers link from the Start menu.

How to Install:

(1) The EWS08 1.20.8 patch can be applied to any EWS08 1.20 product version, e.g. 1.20(.1), 1.20.6 or 1.20.7. If you do not already have an installation of EWS08 1.20 (or later), you must install EWS08 1.20 in a clean directory before applying this patch.

(2) When you unzip the patch, you will see that it contains the following directory structure and files: ews08_patch_1.20.8/ s08/ bin/ config/ doc/ drivers/ examples/ inc/ lib/ src/ tutor/

(3) Applying patch 1.20.8 to an existing installation of EWS08 1.20 is simply done by dropping the "s08" directory of the patch onto the "s08" directory of your EWS08 installation and let it overwrite any updated files.

This update resolves the following issue:

EW23417 - At optimization levels Low and above, built-in intrinsic functions such as __enable_interrupt() and __no_operation(), could previously, depending on context, accidentally be moved within a code block or removed altogether by the optimizer.

IAR Embedded Workbench for S08 - patch 1.20.2

Published September 13, 2011.

This relase has been made to correct the following problem in the IAR C Compiler:

EW22662: All interrupt vectors, except the reset vector, were placed in a segment incorrectly named INTVEC_C instead of INTVEC. The linker subsequently treated this segment as being of type DATA. As a result, these interrupt vectors were excluded from any ROM-only output image.

1. Exit IAR Embedded Workbench.
